The Staghorn Seal

The staghorn seal is a brass seal mounted on the end of an animal horn and was used to make an imprint in wax when sealing envelopes. My grandfather, Richard Roemer Ramsell II, owned it before he died. It is now in the possession of his son Edward W. Ramsell. We assume that the seal was originally owned by Carl Fredrick Adolphus Roemer who probably brought it with him from Germany.
